Winter Wonderland Nail Art 2020

Hello everybody! With the end of the year 2018 (how did that happen so fast?) Comes my last CGH lifestyle post. I’ve really enjoyed sharing my Nail Art ideas, techniques and tips for the last 12 months, and I hope you enjoyed it too.

Today I have something suitable for the season – if you live in the colder climates, I am sure that you are familiar with the snow landscape. If you do not, you can still rock some cute, snowy glances!

Winter Wonderland Nail Art 2018

First are some pretty white snowflakes over a holographic base. I painted my nails black and let them dry. Then I have a scattered holographic topper (one of my favorites is China Glaze Fairy Dust). Then I stamped snowflakes with a white stamped polish. It reminds me of Christmas Eve snow!

Aaah look at this holo! If you do not have a snowflake stamp, you can always paint a few snowflakes with acrylic paint and a small brush. Here is a little tutorial for you:

Draw 3 thin lines on your nail and cross them in the middle.

Draw smaller lines that depart from these lines.
Use a puncture tool or bobby pin to add points along the main lines.
This will give you a simple snowflake that you can make as detailed or as simple as you like. You can say that I’m not the best freehand artist in the world, but the finished product looks so cute!

Next, we’ve made a simple glitter gradient – in a palette of white and blue that gives that glittering, frosty winter-morning feeling – so simple and sweet, cuddling up in a sweater against a roaring fire! To get this look, paint your nails with a white base and let them dry. Use a makeup sponge, paint your glitter and gently dab the glitter around the cuticle of your nail and work towards the center. Cover with a quick-drying topcoat and a matt top coat!

After doing the aforementioned Mani, I just fell in love with the blue and white combo for a Winter Wonderland theme. It totally reminded me of a Christmas tree that I had when I was a kid – it was a white, fluffy tree decorated with blue lights and blue and silver ornaments! I started with a white polish with golden shimmer and stamped light blue snowflakes over it.

Then I decided to make a second layer of stamped snowflakes in a darker blue and gave me a white snowflake accent nail:

I even filtered out a glitter from the polish that I used in the previous mania for the middle of the snowflake. I loved these so much!

And last but not least, I did a wintry forest scene. I started with a black base and used acrylic paint to create snow along the bottom of my nail. Then I took a tree stamp and used white, silver and light blue polished trees along the snow line. I even painted a little snowman there! Then I topped it all off with a holographic topper to mimic the snow falling into the night sky.

You can easily use acrylic paint to paint the trees if you prefer. You simply draw a vertical line (for the trunk) and then smaller lines (for the branches).
