How to Create a Butterfly Tieback 2018

The Butterfly Tieback has a similar technique to a heart hairstyle we made before. This is easy enough to be a DIY. I have added a bow to Rylan, but you can leave it for older girls and mothers.

Required items: brush, comb tail comb, spray bottle, 3-4 hair elastics, 2 crocodile clips, spray wax or hairspray and ribbon {if desired}.
Time required: 3-5 minutes
Difficulty: Medium

Step by step instructions:

1. Begin by picking up two sections of hair from the front. (one on both sides)
2. Pull it backwards and secure it with a small rubber band in the middle of the back.
3. Place it with your Topsy-Tail tool in the middle of your tieback behind the rubber band.
4. Pick up the ponytail and divide it into two parts.
5. Go to the top of the Topsy tail with the first leg, go to the back of the Topsy Tail Loop and get through to the front. Now gently pull the Topsy Tail down. This will pull the hair in half a loop.
6. Repeat step 5 on the other side.
7. Secure both ends together with a small rubber band.
8. Next, place your Topsail through a loop. Take a new section of hair on one side, just under the spot where you picked up before.
9. Pull the hair back through the topsy tail and then pull the bottom of the topsy tail down to pull the hair through the loop.
10. Repeat steps 8 and 9 on the opposite side.
11. Secure your 2 new hair pieces in the middle with a small rubber band.
12. Repeat steps 3-6 on your second ponytail.
13. Now take both parts together with the first ponytail and secure them with a small rubber band.
14. Go back and gently pull on the outer edges of your upper loops to better shape your butterfly wings.
15. Finish with hairspray {if desired}.
