Dutch Lace Braid Combo 2020

Summer is here, are you looking for a nice new hairstyle? This one is perfect for long hair. We combine French braids and lace braids for a nice and easy braid combination.

You can add curls, waves or ripples to your hair as a base. I’ve noticed that the braids pop more and are larger / fluffier with the extra texture. This hairstyle affects long and medium hair. It’s perfect for girls of all ages and holds activity throughout a full day.

The inspiration for this hairstyle came from the show “Vikings” on the History Channel and my friend JennisHairDays on Instagram. To see your own photo replicas of this style included in our app, you can tag your photos on IG with the following tags: #CGHDutchLaceCombo

Required items: brush, comb tail, spray bottle, 3 hair elastics, hair spray or dry wax {if desired}.

Time required: 8-10 minutes

Difficulty: Medium

Step by step instructions:

1. Make two pieces at the top of the head over the middle of the eyebrow to the back of the crown. Then over the back and do a square U-shape.
2. Lift your upper section out of the way, pick up the remaining hair and temporarily secure it with a rubber band.
3. Go back to your top section and add some backcaming for extra volume.
4. Take a small section from the front and start a normal French braid all the way back.
5. If you have no new hair to add to your braid, continue with a normal three-strand braid down to the very bottom and attach it with a rubber band.
6. Go back and pull on the edges or pancake your braid to give it a complete look.
7. Release your temporary rubber band from most of your hair. Cut a new piece of hair on one side of your braid. You go down about an inch from the original part-line to the back of your crown.
8. Lift your new department out of the way and pick up all your remaining hair and temporarily put it in a rubber band.
9. Now go back to the front and start a Dutch lace trim. This is where you just add new hair to the top of your Dutch braid. Once you have reached the back and no longer have new hair, close with a normal braid all the way down and secure it with a small rubber band.
10. Repeat steps 8-9 on the other side of your head.
